Man Dies, Child Hurt After Motorcycle and Bus Collide on Hazeltine Avenue in Van Nuys

 
VAN NUYS, CA (March 18, 2024) — One person died, and a child suffered injuries after a bus and a motorcycle crashed in an accident on Hazeltine Avenue near Bessemer Street.
 
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal motorcycle crash happened around 11:00 a.m. Friday. For some reason, a motorcyclist riding with a 12-year-old female collided with a Metro G Line bus near the intersection.
 
Soon after, emergency personnel responded and transported the young female to Valley Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition. Her driver, described as a man, suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Officials did not release his name.
 
Due to the crash, the Metro Orange Line at Hazeltine closed its services until further notice. Authorities did not have information on the factors of the accident. However, they are looking into all possibilities.
