RICHARDSON GROVE, CA (September 21, 2023) — One person died in a bicycle accident on Highway 101 near Huckleberry Campground.
 
According to a Caltrans QuickMap, a portion of Highway 101 closed due to a fatal accident. Under unclear circumstances, at least one car struck a bicyclist on Highway 101 near Huckleberry Campground.
 
Reports said that another bicyclist was performing CPR on the victim. However, efforts to save the cyclist failed as the individual passed away at the scene.
 
Authorities closed Highway 101 from mile marker 1.5 to mile marker 2.2.
