Two-Vehicle Accident on 10 Freeway in Banning Kills 1 and Injures 6

 
BANNING, CA (July 11, 2021) – One person died and six other people sustained injuries in a two-vehicle accident on 10 Freeway in Banning Saturday afternoon.
 
The accident happened just before 1:40 p.m. on July 10, near Hargrave Street. According to the Riverside County Fire Department, two vehicles collided for unknown reasons. The impact caused one of the vehicles to roll over and land on its side against a tree.
 
Fire officials said one person died at the scene. Six other people were hurt, three of them suffered serious injuries.
 
One of the victims was ejected from a vehicle, fire officials said.
 
Crews closed two eastbound freeway lanes near the crash site as well as the Hargrave off-ramp while they worked on the scene.
 
The identity of the deceased victim was not immediately available. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
