Pedestrian Accident on East Gage Avenue in South LA Turns Fatal

SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (July 11, 2021) – One person died in a pedestrian accident at East Gage Avenue and Miramonte Boulevard.

The accident happened just after 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 10. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was either walking or standing at the intersection when a vehicle struck them.

First responders attempted saving the pedestrian, but the victim died at the scene.

The CHP withheld the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin. They also declined to say whether the person was a man or a woman, or whether the driver stayed at the scene.

Crews temporarily closed the Gage Avenue from Makee Avenue to Miramonte Boulevard while they cleared the wreckage.

At this time, an investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
