Motorcycle Rear-Ends Vehicle on 405 Freeway in Hawthorne Killing One and Injuring Another

 
HAWTHORNE, CA (January 17, 2022) – One person died and another one was injured after a motorcycle accident on 405 Freeway in Hawthorne on Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened a little before 11:00 a.m. on January 16 just west of El Segundo Boulevard. According to the CHP, two people were riding on the motorcycle when they rear-ended a vehicle.
 
The impact killed one of the riders and injured the other. It is still unclear if the deceased was the one driving the motorcycle or the passenger.
 
Paramedics took the injured patient to a hospital in an unknown condition.
 
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased once family members are notified.
 
At this time, the exact cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
