High-Speed Crash on Highway 33 in Lost Hills Leaves Driver Dead and Passenger Injured
LOST HILLS, CA (August 14, 2024) – One person died and another was injured in a high-speed crash on Highway 33 in Lost Hills Tuesday afternoon on August 13.
The fatal crash happened shortly before 2:15 p.m. just south of Twisselman Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 52-year-old driver in a sedan was traveling northbound on the highway at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the car. He then crashed into a dirt field east of the roadway.
As a result, the driver of the sedan suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was taken to Kern Medical for treatment of minor injuries.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office withheld the identity of the driver at this time.
Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
