MISSION VIEJO, CA (May 12, 2022) – At least one person sustained injuries in a two-vehicle accident on 5 Freeway, late Wednesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on May 11 at about 11:44 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, two vehicles collided on southbound 5 Freeway near Crown Valley Parkway.
 
The impact of the collision caused one of the vehicles to overturn.
 
Emergency crews rendered aid to one injured victim. The current condition of the victim remains unknown.
 
Responders later issued a SigAlert at 11:50 a.m. to make way for clearing operations and an investigation.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
