Lane Closed after Motorcycle Crash on Highway 101 near Ortega Hill Road in Summerland
SUMMERLAND, CA (July 15, 2021) – A rider sustained injuries in a motorcycle crash on Highway 101, Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on July 8, at about 8:55 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a motorcycle and a vehicle collided near Ortega Hill Road.
The impact of the crash caused the rider to go airborne and land between construction barriers. Emergency crews transported the motorcyclist to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Responders temporarily closed the left lane of the highway to make way for clearing operations and an investigation.
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
