1 Killed in Police Chase Crash on Highway 101 in Greenfield

 
GREENFIELD, CA (October 3, 2022) — One person died in a police chase accident on Highway 101 near Underwood Road on Thursday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle collision occurred around 3:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, CHP officers began pursuing a 45-year-old from Mountain View. The suspect subsequently led officers on a chase from the city of Chualar.
 
However, as the Toyota Prius continued southbound on Highway 101, the vehicle crashed into the front end of a semi-truck. Due to the impact, the Prius severed into two pieces and the driver died at the scene. The man’s name has yet to be released.
 
The crash left debris strewn across the highway and commuters facing traffic with one lane open.
 
At this time, investigators have not released updated details on this incident. Although, we will update this report with new information, should we receive any.
