1 Killed After Flatbed Tow Truck Accident on Road 188 in Tulare County

 
TULARE COUNTY, CA (September 18, 2024) — One person died after a flatbed tow truck and a vehicle crashed on Road 188 near Avenue 232.
 
According to the Tulare County Fire Department, the fatal two-vehicle crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Monday. For an unknown reason, a 22-year-old man operating a northbound GMC began weaving in and out of the lane. Subsequently, the GMC crashed into a southbound flatbed truck head-on.
 
Minutes later, California Highway Patrol and paramedics responded but the 22-year-old victim passed away from severe injuries. Officials have not released his name. The other driver was unharmed.
 
Detectives are actively seeking the leading cause of this crash, including if DUI factored into the collision.
