Fatal Coachella Two-Vehicle Accident on Cesar Chavez Street near Avenue 50

 
COACHELLA, CA (December 11, 2023) – One person died in a two-vehicle accident on Cesar Chavez Street, Saturday evening.
 
According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the incident happened on December 9, at about 8:23 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, two vehicles collided near Avenue 50.
 
The impact of the collision caused one of the vehicles to catch fire.
 
Emergency crews pronounced one victim dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, another victim suffered unspecified injuries and needed hospitalization.
 
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
