1 Killed, 1 Hospitalized in Fiery 2-Car Crash on Highway 94 in Dulzura

 
DULZURA, CA (June 19, 2023) — One person died in a fiery 2-car accident on Highway 94 and Barrett Lake Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal 2-car crash happened around 7:14 p.m. Wednesday. For an unknown reason, a man driving a four-door sedan veered off the highway. Subsequently, the driver overcorrected before crashing head-on with a pickup truck.
 
Due to the impact, the sedan caught on fire, trapping the driver in the vehicle. The driver of the pickup truck tried to save the sedan driver but was unable to.
 
As efforts fell short, the sedan driver passed away at the scene. The pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for care. At this time, traffic investigators are not sure if impairment played a part in the accident, but an investigation should confirm these details.
