85-Year-Old Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Santa Rosalia Drive in South Los Angeles

SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (July 17, 2023) — An 85-year-old died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on South Rosalia Drive near West Boulevard.

According to Los Angeles Police, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a driver of a dark-colored car heading eastbound at a high rate of speed failed to stop after hitting a pair of pedestrians.

An investigation showed that the 85-year-old and his adult grandson were crossing the street at the time of the crash. The driver failed to stop and render aid.

Moments later, paramedics arrived and brought the victims to a hospital, where the elder passed away. His grandson remains in serious, but stable condition.
