Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle on 5 Freeway in Valencia

 
VALENCIA, CA (July 4, 2023) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway in Valencia late Friday evening on June 30.
 
The fatal accident happened around 10:30 p.m. near Valencia Boulevard at the overpass. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking along the northbound freeway when a vehicle struck them.
 
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The name, age and hometown of the victim were not immediately available.
 
It is unknown if the driver of the vehicle stayed after the crash.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
