Woman Killed, Quad Crashes Into Boulder at Deerbrook Lane in Fresno County

 
FRESNO COUNTY, A (March 16, 2023) — A woman died after a quad crashed into a boulder at Deerbrook Lane and Artesia Lane Saturday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 4:17 p.m. In Yokuts Valley. For an unknown reason, the woman crashed into a boulder while operating the quad. The 22-year-old rider suffered a serious injury and perished at the scene. Authorities did not release her name pending notification of next of kin.
 
Her 18-year-old passenger suffered major injuries and sought care at a nearby hospital. At the scene, authorities confirmed that neither occupant wore a helmet during the crash.
 
Information surrounding the cause of the crash is unavailable. However, authorities do not suspect impairment to have played a role in the accident.
