Juan Avalos Struck, Killed by Vehicle on Highway 14 near Agua Dulce Canyon Road

 
SANTA CLARITA COUNTY, CA (March 7, 2023) — Juan Avalos was hit and killed by a car on Highway 14 near Agua Dulce Canyon Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol New Hall Area Office, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 12:13 a.m. Sunday. Authorities learned that 44-year-old Avalos crashed his vehicle on the southbound side of the highway near the Agua Dulce Canyon Road off-ramp. Yet for some reason, the Palmdale man ran across the southbound and northbound lanes where he was hit in the No. 2 and 3 lanes by an oncoming 2022 Mazda MX-5.
 
Avalos died at the scene of the accident. According to the CHP, officials do not know if drugs or alcohol played a factor.
