Community Service Officer Hurt in DUI Crash on Maple Avenue in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (February 23, 2023) — A community service officer suffered back injuries in a DUI accident on Maple Avenue and Belmont Avenue Tuesday.
 
According to Fresno Police officers, the two-vehicle crash happened around 7:30 p.m. A community service officer had her lights and sirens on as her vehicle was blocking the roadway. Reports say that her car was blocking the road because crews were working to clear a downed tree in the area. However, another report stated that a previous hit-and-run crash had occurred in front of her.
 
At some point, a driver traveling at a high rate of speed and under the influence plowed into her car. The female community service officer suffered minor injuries, including back pain.
 
Following an investigation, officers arrested the driver for DUI and also took that individual to a hospital
