Saman Mafakhery Killed in Hit-and-Run on Von Karman Avenue [Irvine, CA]

33-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Drive while Walking near Irvine Intersection

 
IRVINE, CA (November 6, 2022) – Saman Vakili Mafakhery was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Irvine on Thursday evening, November 3.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:11 p.m. near the intersection of Von Karman Avenue and Michelson Drive. Police said the victim was walking on the roadway toward Dupont Drive from Von Karman Avenue when a car struck him.
 
After the crash, the vehicle drove away without stopping, police said.
 
Mafakhery suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was 33 years old of Aliso Viejo.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large. The Irvine Police Department is handling the investigation.
