Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Cherry Avenue near Almaden Expressway in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (November 3, 2022) – A man was struck and killed by a vehicle on Cherry Avenue on Wednesday morning.
 
According to the San Jose Police Department, the incident happened on November 2 at about 4:30 a.m. A pedestrian reportedly attempted to cross outside of a marked crosswalk. Then, a westbound 2020 Hyundai SUV hit him near Almaden Expressway.
 
Emergency crews transported the victim to a hospital, where he later died. Authorities withheld the name of the victim, pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
 
As per reports, the driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
San Jose police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
