18-year-old Camdan McWright Killed in Scooter, Bus Accident on 10th Street and Reed Street

 
SAN JOSE, CA (October 24, 2022) Camdan McWright died in a scooter and bus crash on 10th Street at Reed Street Friday morning.
 
According to the San Jose police department, the fatal two-vehicle accident happened just blocks from Lowell Elementary School.
 
Around 10:00 a.m., 18-year-old McWright — a San Jose State University football player — was riding a rental scooter when he was hit in a crosswalk by a school bus shuttling about 14 students, ages 14 to 17. The bus had the right of way with a green traffic light, California Highway Patrol officers confirmed.
 
Due to the accident, the freshman from Sylmar, Calif., died at the scene. No one on board the bus reported any injuries.
 
At this time, crews will investigate this crash further to identify any unclear details. If anyone has seen this crash, please call the CHP.
