Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 395 in Mono County

 
MONO COUNTY, CA (August 8, 2022) – At least one person died in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 395 in Mono County on Saturday afternoon, August 6.
 
The accident happened around 4:59 p.m. near the Chris Flat Campground. According to the California Highway Patrol, two vehicles collided for unknown reasons. One of them struck a guardrail and went upside down on the roadway.
 
While details of how the crash occurred were not immediately available, at least one person was pronounced dead.
 
Another patient was airlifted to Renown Regional Medical Center in Nevada with unspecified injuries.
 
Officers said a third vehicle may have been involved in the crash and fled the scene.
 
Further investigation is underway.
