Pedestrian Dies after Hit by Car while Crossing Outside Crosswalk at Wells and Darling Roads

 
VENTURA, CA (July 25, 2022) – A 46-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident at Wells Road and Darling Road in east Ventura early Saturday.
 
The fatal accident happened around 12:20 a.m. on July 23. According to the Ventura Police Department, the woman crossed in the middle of the intersection, outside of crosswalks, and into the path of northbound vehicles. One vehicle then struck her.
 
Paramedics performed CPR before the victim was taken by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center, where she later died.
 
At this time, authorities withheld the victim’s name pending notification of her family members.
 
The involved driver, a 23-year-old Piru man who showed no signs of impairment, stayed on scene and cooperated with police.
