Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Drunk Driver on Highway 94 in Spring Valley

 
SPRING VALLEY, CA (July 19, 2022) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a DUI driver on Highway 94 near Spring Street on Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash happened around 2:30 a.m. The incident initially began when a two-vehicle crash sent one car careening down an embankment and stopping against a concrete barrier near Highway 125. The other vehicle, however, remained on Highway 94, where its driver exited the car and stood in the No. 1 lane.
 
Subsequently, an oncoming eastbound Hyundai Elantra struck the pedestrian in the fast lane.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded to the scene and tried to save the victim, who died shortly after. Following the crash, police arrested the 27-year-old driver of the Hyundai on suspicion of DUI.
 
At this time, the victim’s name and the outstanding details of the crash need more looking into. Therefore, any witnesses who can help the CHP should call their department.
