Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle on 215 Freeway in Edgemont

 
EDGEMONT, CA (June 15, 2022) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on 215 Freeway in Edgemont on Tuesday morning, June 14.
 
The accident happened around 6:15 a.m. at the Alessandro Boulevard on-ramp. According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the pedestrian was walking along the southbound freeway when a vehicle struck them.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. It is also unclear if the involved driver stayed after the crash.
 
Crews closed the on-ramp while the investigation was conducted.
