Man Stabbed to Death after Hit-and-Run Driver Hits 2 Teens on Cosbey Avenue in Baldwin Park

 
BALDWIN PARK, CA (June 2, 2022) — A man was stabbed and killed after a hit-and-run driver hit two teens on Cosbey Avenue near Waco Street.
 
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal incident happened around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
 
Under unclear circumstances, a suspect struck two teenagers in the Baldwin Park neighborhood. From there, the driver left the area and crashed his vehicle into an unoccupied parked car before fleeing on foot. Subsequently, the father of one of the teens tried to apprehend the suspect who then stabbed the father to death.
 
Following the incident, the suspect fled on foot from that location but was detained by El Monte Police Officers several blocks away. The unidentified suspect faces suspicion of murder and other charges.
 
Quickly responding to the scene, paramedics brought the man to a hospital where he died from his injuries. As for the 16-year-old Baldwin Park boy and 15-year-old Montebello girl hit by the suspect prior, they suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
