Motorcyclist Dies after Crashing into Big Rig on 5 Freeway in Santa Clarita

 
SANTA CLARITA, CA (May 23, 2022) – Miguel Rivara died in a motorcycle accident on 5 Freeway in Santa Clarita on Saturday morning, May 21.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:13 a.m. at 14 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, Rivara was riding his motorcycle southbound on 5 Freeway when he crashed into a big rig for unknown reasons.
 
As a result, Rivara suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 22-year-old Granada Hills resident.
 
At this time, it is unclear if drugs or alcohol was a factor. An investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
