1 Hospitalized, Dog Dies in Duarte Wrong-Way Crash on Huntington Drive

 
DUARTE, CA (May 19, 2022) — One person was injured, and a dog died in a wrong-way accident on Huntington Drive near Winston Avenue on Tuesday.
 
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the two-vehicle accident happened around 9:21 p.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a red Toyota Prius was traveling in the wrong direction in the 2700 block of Huntington Drive.
 
As a result, the Prius collided head-on with an Audi SUV, sending the Prius into a building located near Duarte Azusa Animal Hospital.
 
Shortly after, the Los Angeles County Fire Department officials responded to the scene and found a dog that had died. However, authorities do not believe the canine belonged to the hospital.
 
Meanwhile, one person suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the accident and was taken to a hospital for care.
 
At this time, officers have not released the leading cause of the accident. However, an ongoing investigation should clarify more details.
