2 People Hurt in Cathedral City Head-On Crash on Landau Boulevard

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (May 12, 2022) — Two people were injured in a head-on accident on Landau Boulevard near Mccallum Way Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Cathedral City Police Department, the two-vehicle crash happened around 4:00 p.m. For reasons that are under investigation, a driver in a northbound Nissan Altima crossed into the southbound lanes. Subsequently, a southbound gray Toyota Corolla collided with the Nissan near McCallum Way.

As a result of the crash, a 24-year-old man from Cathedral City suffered head injuries and a 19-year-old man from Thousand Palms complained of neck pain. Soon after, paramedics brought both patients to Desert Regional Medical Center.

At this time, investigators have yet to confirm the ultimate cause of the accident. However, the northbound driver did indicate that a third party entered the driver’s path, which might explain the evasive action into the southbound lane.

If anyone has more information, please call the police.
