Lori Hooper Dies after DUI Driver Struck their Motorcycle in Placerville

 
PLACERVILLE, CA (April 27, 2022)Lori Hooper died in a DUI crash on Highway 50 in Placerville on Saturday night.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:45 p.m. on April 23 near Broadway. According to the Placerville Police Department, a Jeep Cherokee and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle collided. The impact sent the motorcycle down in the roadway.
 
Hopper, a 60-year-old Pollock Pines resident, was a passenger on the motorcycle. She suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The motorcycle rider suffered major injuries and was airlifted to a hospital.
 
Aaron Folmsbee, a 47-year-old Cameron Park resident, was the driver of the Jeep.
 
Police determined that Folmsbee was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. They arrested and booked him into the El Dorado County Main Jail for DUI and manslaughter charges.
 
Folmsbee has since been released on $175,000 bail, jail records show.
 
An investigation is ongoing.
