Driver Airlifted after Two-Car Crash on Florida Avenue [Hemet, CA]

Injuries Reported in Two-Vehicle Accident on Florida Avenue near Warren Road

 
HEMET, CA (April 18, 2022) — A driver sustained critical injuries after a two-car crash on Florida Avenue on Wednesday, April 13.
 
The incident took place at the intersection of West Florida Avenue near Warren Road at around 9:15 p.m.
 
The initial investigation determined a black Audi sedan moved westbound on Florida Avenue. It traveled toward Warren Road at a high rate of speed.
 
Hemet Police Officer Alan Reyes said the Audi continued through the stale red traffic signal at Warren Road. Then it crashed with a black Chevrolet Traverse moving northbound on Warren Road on a green light.
 
The impact of the crash ejected the Audi driver from his vehicle, Reyes said.
 
The city of Hemet Police and fire personnel responded to the crash site. When they arrived, they found the driver of the Audi with several life-threatening injuries. Mercy Air Ambulance airlifted the Audi driver to Riverside University Health System’s Trauma Center in Moreno Valley.
 
Medics also rushed the others injured in the crash by ground ambulances to RUHS. Meanwhile, they released the driver of the Chevrolet with minor injuries on the scene.
