Driver Dies after Fiery Crash Involving Big Rig on 91 Freeway in Corona

 
CORONA, CA (April 6, 2022) – At least one person died in a fiery accident on 91 Freeway early Thursday morning, March 31.
 
The accident happened just before 1:00 a.m. near Green River Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a big rig collided with a 2010 Volvo for unknown reasons. The impact caused the Volvo to hit a work truck on the right shoulder of the freeway.
 
The Volvo driver veered back into traffic before he was struck by the big rig.
 
As a result, the Volvo driver died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
Crews closed several lanes of the westbound 91 Freeway for hours while they cleaned up about 40 yards of debris scattered across the freeway.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
