Person Trapped after Two-Vehicle Accident on Byron Highway near Marsh Creek Road in Byron

 
BYRON, CA (March 28, 2022) – One person sustained injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Byron Highway on Saturday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on March 26 at about 6:48 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, two vehicles collided near Marsh Creek Road.
 
The impact of the crash caused one of the vehicles to overturn, trapping one person.
 
The East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responders had to use the “Jaws of Life” to free the victim. Then, a medical helicopter transported the victim to an area hospital.
 
As per reports, the vehicles blocked the intersection and caused road closures.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
