8 Vehicles Involved in Multi-Vehicle Accident on 91 Freeway near Bloomfield Avenue in Cerritos

 
CERRITOS, CA (March 22, 2022) – At least one person sustained serious injuries in a multi-vehicle accident on 91 Freeway, early Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on March 18 at about 2:00 a.m. Two vehicles reportedly collided near Bloomfield Avenue. The impact of the crash caused one of the vehicles to overturn.
 
As per reports, six other vehicles that swerved to avoid the crash scene became involved in the collision. Then, another vehicle overturned.
 
Emergency crews transported one person to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. Paramedics also assessed an unknown number of people for injuries.
 
Responders closed all lanes of the freeway until 3:00 a.m. to make way for clearing operations.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
