Wrong-Way Accident on 15 Freeway in Ontario Leaves 1 Dead

 
ONTARIO, CA (March 14, 2022) – One person was died and another was injured in a wrong-way accident on 15 Freeway in Ontario, early Saturday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:07 a.m. on March 12 near 10 Freeway and Cantu-Galleano Ranch Road. CHP officials said a black SUV was heading northbound in the southbound 15 Freeway when it crashed into a guardrail head-on.
 
The car then overturned on its roof. Debris from crash were strewn in traffic lanes, hitting at least three passing vehicles.
 
Ontario Fire Department crews arrive and located two people unconscious inside the vehicle that was reportedly split in half.
 
Sadly, one person died at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim was not immediately available.
 
Emergency responders were able to extract the other occupant from the wreckage. After extricating that person, they took them to a local hospital in an unknown condition.
 
The CHP blocked the three left lanes for over 3 hours for the investigation and clean-up. It is still unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
