One Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident on Florin Road near Highway 99

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (March 4, 2022) — A person died following a pedestrian accident on Florin Road on Thursday, March 3.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Florin Road, just east of Highway 99 at about 5:30 a.m.
 
The driver reported that they initially swerved to avoid several other people who were in the roadway. But they struck the person that died.
 
Officers say the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
 
CHP officials at the scene said the victim was a woman. There is no other information reported about the deceased.
 
Officers closed Florin Road for several hours in the area where the crash happened. It has since reopened.
