EUREKA, CA (February 28, 2022) — A woman suffered a head injury in a hit-and-run accident on 3rd Street at R Street.
 
According to Eureka Police, the hit-and-run crash happened around 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. For unknown reasons, a woman described as a hitchhiker tried to get out of a Toyota Tacoma. However, during this attempt, the woman fell onto the road before the driver reversed and took off with her dog.
 
Soon after, paramedics reached the scene and found the woman with a head injury, later bringing her to a hospital. Meanwhile, officers stopped the vehicle and driver 20 minutes later.
 
At this time, information as to what led to this hit-and-run crash or the circumstances prior to this incident remains unclear. However, the police plan to investigate this incident further.
