RIVERSIDE, CA (February 3, 2022) – Authorities identified 54-year-old Deadra Hughes of Anaheim as the driver killed in a truck accident on 60 Freeway, Tuesday evening.

According to the Riverside Police Department, the incident happened on February 1 at about 9:40 p.m. A Nissan Rogue in the No. 3 lane reportedly slammed into the rear of a UPS big rig near Valley Way.

The impact of the collision caused the Nissan to veer across all traffic lanes. Then, the vehicle hit the median wall and came to rest in the HOV lane.

As per reports, the truck driver immediately pulled over and called 911.

Emergency crews rushed Hughes to Riverside Community Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Responders then temporarily closed the eastbound side of the freeway to make way for an investigation.
