Passenger Dies after Head-On Accident on Dehesa Road

 
DEHESA, CA (January 11, 2022) – An elderly woman was killed in a head-on accident on Dehesa Road on Sunday, January 9.
 
The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. just west of Sloane Canyon Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2003 Honda Civic was heading eastbound when it drove across double-yellow lines. It then veered into the westbound lanes, where it collided head-on with a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica minivan.
 
As a result, the 74-year-old San Diego woman riding in the minivan died at the scene. She was not yet identified.
 
A 46-year-old woman who was driving the minivan suffered moderate injuries. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
 
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old woman who was driving the Honda suffered major injuries. She was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, although she had not been arrested as of Monday.
 
At this time, CHP officials are still looking further into the other factors of the crash.
