Woman Struck, Killed by Train near Sunset Avenue

 
FAIRFIELD, CA (December 2, 2021) — A woman was hit and killed by a train near Sunset Avenue and Travis Boulevard on Wednesday morning.
 
According to Amtrak, the fatal accident happened around 9:00 a.m. For unknown reasons, an unidentified woman was trespassing on the train tracks. As a result, train 524 – on its way to Sacramento from San Jose – struck her.
 
Soon after, Fairfield Police responded and confirmed that the woman had died.
 
At this time, officers have not released her identity and the reason for the crash. However, if any witnesses can help the police at this time, please reach out to the investigators.
