Pedestrian Paul Sigler Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Santa Monica

 
SANTA MONICA, CA (November 18, 2021) – A man died in a pedestrian hit-and-run at 10th Street and Pico Boulevard in Santa Monica on Saturday, November 13.
 
Police identified the victim as 58-years-old Paul Sigler, according to the coroner’s office. Police believe Sigler was homeless.
 
According to the Santa Monica Police Department, around 8:05 p.m. Sigler was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street and then hit by a second car while he was down on the road.
 
Santa Monica Fire personnel pronounced Sigler dead on scene.
 
The first car the struck Sigler ran from the scene. Police are seeking to track down a white Dodge Challenger with red racing stripes on the hood, which is suspected to be responsible for the hit and run. The vehicle was last seen traveling east on Pico Boulevard.
 
The driver of the second vehicle that struck Sigler stopped to assist and has cooperated with the investigation.
 
The department’s Major Accident Response Team is still investigating the fatality. Police plan to talk to witnesses and check for surveillance video in the area.
