Woker Dies after Falling Six Stories at Valero Benicia Refinery

 
BENICIA, CA (November 14, 2021) – A worker died after falling six stories at the Valero Benicia Refinery late Friday evening.

The accident happened around 10:49 p.m. on November 12, at 3400 East Second Street. Benicia police said the worker fell approximately six stories.

Emergency crews arrived and found the worker unresponsive inside a vessel. They performed CPR and attempted to revive him, but he died at the scene. The victim was a contractor.

At this time, the identity of the worker was not immediately available.

Police said there was no indication of any crime.

Cal/OSHA investigators were at the refinery on Saturday to investigate the accident.
