Head-On Accident on Whipple Road in Union City Kills Two Drivers

 
UNION CITY, CA (November 9, 2021) – Two people were killed in a head-on accident on Whipple Road in Union City on Sunday.
 
The accident happened a little before 5:45 p.m. on November 7 just west of Central Avenue. Authorities said a red Acura TL was traveling eastbound on Whipple Road when it collided head-on with a dark-colored Honda Pilot which was heading westbound.
 
The impact caused significant damage on both vehicles.
 
Alameda County Fire Department firefighters responded and provided life-saving aid to the Acura’s driver, who died at the scene.
 
Paramedics also rushed the Honda’s driver to a hospital, where they also later succumbed to their injuries.
 
Both drivers were adults, but their identities were withheld pending next-of-kin notification, police said.
