Speeding Rider Dies after Colliding into Trailer at Shaw and North Cedar Avenues

 
FRESNO, CA (October 19, 2021) – A Clovis man died in a motorcycle accident at Shaw Avenue and North Cedar Avenue Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. on October 17, near Fresno State. According to Fresno police, the man was riding his motorcycle westbound on Shaw Avenue at a high rate of speed.
 
He then ran a red light and struck the rear end of a trailer being pulled by a van that was traveling northbound on North Cedar Avenue.
 
Police said the van was making a left-hand turn when the motorcyclist hit it. The man died upon impact. Authorities withheld his identity pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the van remained on scene and cooperated with police. An investigation is ongoing.
