Head-On Accident on Highway 12 in Santa Rosa Leaves 1 Driver with Fatal Injuries

 
SANTA ROSA, CA (October 1, 2021) – One driver died and another suffered serious injuries after a head-on accident on Highway 12 in Santa Rosa on Wednesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 10:30 a.m. on September 29, just east of Irwin Lane. According to the California Highway Patrol, a GMC Sierra pickup truck was heading eastbound when it drifted into the opposite lane for unknown reasons. It then collided head-on into a westbound Chevrolet flatbed truck.
 
Both vehicles sustained major damage and the adult male driver of the GMC died at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the deceased pending next of kin notification.
 
The male driver of the Chevrolet suffered major injuries and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
 
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
