DOWNEY, CA (October 1, 2021) – One person died in a multi-vehicle accident on Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Downey early Wednesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 12:31 a.m. on September 29, at the intersection with Paramount Boulevard. CHP officials said several vehicles collided on the freeway for unknown reasons.
 
As a result, one person suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
At this time, the identity of the victim was withheld pending family notification. It is also unclear if there are other injuries sustained in the accident.
 
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of the crash and factors involved.
