38-Year-Old Worker Suffers Critical Injuries after Fall at Sunset Gower Studios

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 21, 2021) – A crew member suffered critical injuries after falling from an elevated platform at Sunset Gower Studios Tuesday morning.

The accident happened around 7:04 a.m. on the set of the Netflix film ‘Me Time’. The Los Angeles Fire Department team met the staff at a gate at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and North Beachwood Drive. They were led into a soundstage where the person was in grave condition and did not have a pulse and was not breathing.

The victim, a 38-year-old man, fell from the platform that is estimated to be 60 to 80 feet high.

On-site emergency technicians provided CPR to the man. Paramedics then put the man on a cardiac monitor and administered defibrillation. After these efforts, the man’s pulse and blood pressure was restored and he is now in critical condition with a fighting chance of survival at a regional trauma center.

CAL-OSHA has been notified of the accident and will be conducting an investigation.

Avoid fall accidents at work by keeping walking areas clear from clutter or obstructions. Keep flooring in good condition. Also, use a flashlight if you enter a dark room. Taking proactive safety steps can prevent workplace accidents.
