5 Hurt in Possible Street Racing Crash at Imperial Highway

 
DOWNEY, CA (September 20, 2021) — Five people sustained injuries in a street racing accident at Imperial Highway and Paramount Boulevard Saturday morning.
 
According to authorities, the crash happened around 1:00 a.m. For possible street racing reasons, three cars collided at the intersection. Per the investigation, officers learned that two cars were probably racing one another. As a result, the vehicles crashed, leaving a dark-colored car overturned on its roof and a white sedan and pickup with significant damage.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded and took five people to nearby hospitals. At this point, authorities have no information as to what caused the accident and the injuries sustained. However, they arrested one person on hit and run and reckless driving charges.
