4 Hurt in Head-On Accident on Highway 101

 
MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA (September 8, 2021) — Four people were injured in a head-on crash on Highway 101 near the Irvine Rest Area.
 
According to reports, the two-vehicle crash happened around 2:07 p.m. For unknown reasons, a van collided head-on with a white truck hauling a trailer.
 
The crash that happened between Willits and Laytonville drew police to the scene, where they closed the northbound lanes due to scattered debris and the investigation.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded and transported four patients to Howard Memorial Hospital in Willits. Although, the severity of their injuries seems unclear.
 
At this time, authorities will investigate the crash further to identify the cause. However, if anyone has more information on this accident, please contact the CHP.
