Rider, Officer Hurt in Motorcycle Crash on 5 Freeway

 
SOLANO BEACH, CA (September 2, 2021) — A man and an officer were injured in a motorcycle accident on the 5 Freeway near Lomas Santa Fe Drive Tuesday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:20 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 61-year-old man on a Harley-Davidson struck the center divider and the CHP officer. Due to the impact, the rider ejected from his Harley.
 
Following the accident, paramedics reached the scene, bringing the rider to a hospital with major injuries. As for the officer, he suffered minor to moderate injuries in the crash.
