Man Killed in Hit-and-Run on 101 Freeway at Signal Oil [Goleta, CA]

2 Vehicles Involved in Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash on 101 Freeway in Goleta

 
GOLETA, CA (August 26, 2021) – A 31-year-old Solvang man died in a hit-and-run crash on 101 Freeway in Goleta early Wednesday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:10 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the freeway at Signal Oil. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving a gray 2016 Hyundai Sonata northbound when he collided with another car. He then swerved onto the right shoulder and came to a stop in lanes.
 
As a result, the man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
The driver of the second vehicle fled the scene and was last seen heading north.
 
At this time, CHP officials are still investigating the fatal crash and on the lookout for the hit-and-run suspect.
